How palletizer conveyor line works?

A palletizer conveyor lineis an automated system that arranges and stacks products onto pallets for shipping or storage. It combines a series of conveyors with a Palletizing Machine to streamline the end-of-line packaging process, making it faster, safer, and more consistent than manual labor.

Key Components

The system is an integrated series of machines that work together to prepare goods for transport:

Infeed Conveyors: These belts or rollers transport individual products (e.g., boxes, bags, or cases) from the manufacturing or packaging area to the palletizing station.

Product Orientation System: This part of the line uses specialized belts, rollers, or pushers to turn each product into the correct position and orientation required for the stacking pattern.

Palletizing Machine: This is the central unit that stacks the products. It can be a Robotic Palletizer, which uses an articulated arm for high flexibility and complex stacking patterns, or a conventional palletizer that uses mechanical pushers for high-speed, simple patterns.

Empty Pallet Dispenser: This machine automatically feeds a continuous supply of empty pallets onto the line, ensuring uninterrupted operation.

Full Pallet Conveyor: Once a pallet is fully stacked, this conveyor moves it out of the work cell to the next stage.

Stretch Wrapper: The final step is an automatic stretch wrapper that wraps the entire pallet load in plastic film to secure the products and protect them during transit.

How It Works

The entire process is controlled by a central computer or a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) that synchronizes all the components.

Products enter the line via the infeed conveyor.

The orientation system turns the products as needed to create the specified stacking pattern.

The palletizer picks up the products and stacks them onto a waiting pallet, building the load layer by layer.

Once a pallet is complete, it's conveyed away, and a new empty pallet is automatically supplied.

The full pallet then moves to a stretch wrapper to be secured and prepared for transport.
