Why do flour mills use palletizers to transport?
An automatic palletizing system for 25kg flour bags is an automated solution designed to stack filled bags onto pallets for storage and transportation. This system replaces the physically demanding and repetitive manual labor of lifting and stacking heavy bags, which greatly improves safety and efficiency in flour mills, bakeries, and food processing plants.
How It Works
The entire system is controlled by a central PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) or a dedicated robot controller, which ensures that all components operate in perfect synchrony.
Bags are filled and sealed, then travel down a conveyor to the palletizing area.
The bags are flattened and oriented into the correct position.
The robotic arm picks up one or more bags according to its programming.
The robot places the bags onto an empty pallet in the specified interlocking pattern.
Once the pallet is full, it's conveyed to an automatic stretch wrapper, which secures the load.
A new empty pallet is automatically dispensed for the next cycle.
Advantages
- Improved Safety: This system eliminates the significant risk of musculoskeletal injuries (MSIs) that workers face from manually lifting heavy 25kg bags all day.
- Increased Productivity: The robotic system can work continuously without breaks, significantly increasing the palletizing speed and overall throughput.
- Consistency and Stability: The robot's precise and repeatable movements ensure that every bag is placed correctly, resulting in a more stable and uniform pallet that is less likely to shift or be damaged during transport.
- Cost Savings: It reduces labor costs and minimizes product loss from damaged bags due to human error.
