Single-column palletizer
1. Performance & Capacity
These specs determine how much work the machine can actually do in a shift.
Cycles per Hour (CPH): Typically ranges from 300 to 600 cycles per hour. Note that "cycles" doesn't always equal "boxes" if the gripper picks multiple items at once.
Maximum Payload: This includes the weight of the product plus the weight of the gripper (End of Arm Tooling). Standard limits usually fall between 30 kg and 100 kg, though heavy-duty models exist.
Degrees of Freedom: Most single-column models operate on 4 axes (Rotation, Vertical, Horizontal reach, and Gripper rotation).
2. Physical & Workspace Dimensions
|
Parameter |
Typical Range |
Description |
|
Column Height |
2,500 mm – 4,500 mm |
Dictates the maximum stacking height of the pallet. |
|
Rotation Angle |
270° – 360° |
The "swing" radius of the main pillar. |
|
Max Stacking Height |
Up to 2,200 mm |
Includes the pallet base height. |
|
Footprint |
~2m x 2m |
The actual floor space the base and pillar occupy. |
3. Product & Pallet Compatibility
You need to ensure the machine speaks the same "language" as your inventory.
Product Types: Dimensions (L x W x H) and surface type (cardboard, plastic-wrapped, or open crates).
Pallet Standards: Compatibility with Euro-pallets (800*1200 mm), Industrial pallets (1000*1200 mm), or custom sizes.
Pallet Patterns: The software's ability to handle interlocking patterns for stability.
Gripper Type: Vacuum: For sealed boxes.
Mechanical/Claw: For bags or open crates.
Fork: For heavy or unstable bottom loads.
4. Technical & Utility Requirements
The "under the hood" specs required to keep the machine running.
Power Supply: Usually 400V / 3-Phase / 50-60Hz.
Pneumatic Pressure: Most grippers require 6 bar (87 psi) of clean, dry compressed air.
Control System: Often based on PLC architectures like Siemens S7-1200/1500 or Allen-Bradley, featuring a Touchscreen HMI for pattern selection.
Safety Rating: Must include Category 3 or 4 safety electronics, light curtains, and physical fencing.
